The Local Area

The historic seaside town of Ramsgate provides a perfect location to explore East Kent.  In addition to its stunning sandy beaches and Royal Harbour, the other areas of the Kent Riviera are easily accessible.  Broadstairs, Margate and Sandwich are 10 minutes by car and the historic city of Canterbury is just 30 minutes away.

Ramsgate has a unique, cosmopolitan feel, with an abundance of beautiful Victorian and Georgian buildings, set around the UK’s only Royal Harbour.  Long-sandy beaches, excellent cafés and restaurants make this the perfect destination for a break away.

Margate

Famous for its Turner sunset skies, Margate has an excellent number of attractions from the Turner Contemporary to Dreamland, alongside several fish restaurants and cafes in and around Margate’s old town and Harbour arm.

Broadstairs

Broadstairs is a pleasant walk from Ramsgate along the beach at low tide or along the clifftops via King George VI Memorial park.  Viking Bay is a perfect spot for family-friendly fun, fish and chips and ice cream.
